If you want a very cool HP dock, consider buying an HP business notebook and the NAS 3-in-1 dock. This dock hosts internal software to support network attached storage, contains a 160 GB 7200 rpm drive, has a bay for an extra HD or optical drive, digital video out, USB ports for NAS legacy drives. It can either sit on the desktop, or mount on the HP adjustable notebook stand, itself a very robust platform supporting both the dock and the notebook. I love my new nw9440 package, which included the dock, the stand, and 19" flat monitor.

Yup, although the NAS dock is available only for HP's business notebooks (nx, nc, nw, and tc).

I think the business machines are much better built and more durable than consumer boxes. YMMV
