problem with dell i8600 screen

not sure whats wrongr what to do

unfortunately i dropped it on my floor..it seemed harmless since it was a carpet. then middle chunk of the screen is white with colored lines, it wont go away. after rebooting it, itsstill there. could my sceen be broken? has this happened toanyone ese. any remedies> unfortunately my warraty has expired over a yr now.

Does not look promising. But lets just check that you haven't bumped the LCD cable loose. Turn off the laptop and disconnect all power including battery. Then follow instructions following to remove the control bezel:

After that, you should see a cable running from the LCD and connecting to the GPU just under where the control panel was. Pull this out, and then reseat it. Reverse other steps, then start up the laptop to see if this remedies the problem.
