WTB: Nice High End Laptop with 7900 card - Page 3

Now youre dividing the high end category into two parts to try and squeeze the configuration into the "lower" high end category. A fully loaded e1705 could qualify for lower high end. Yours cant.

A fully loaded e1705 could qualify for high end, as it ranks up there in performance with the m1710, which is high end and you cant deny it. Why do you think he put the price tag he did? Cause he wants high end, not mid range. Yours is mid range at best.

okay wtf? Steve you really have no idea. Yeah okay the machine you posted was a good budget gaming system no argument there. But what Nissan is saying is that it's not a "Powerhouse" as you say, there are much more powerful things out there.

moral of the story is, yeah it's a good budget gaming system but the XPS is the biggest and pretty much one of the best you could get and with coupons they usually have a good price.

lol yeah, the pope pwns those noobs!! but in relevance to this thread, what IS a good, light and CHEAP (I would LOVE an XPS but they're jsut too expensive) with a 7900GTX in it? Or otherwise if I was going to splash out on the vid card would it be worth getting an XPS?

Youre best bet as far as price would be to check the Dell Outlet for an M90 with the Quadro 2500. Its very close in performance to the 7900 GTX, and you could probably get one for around 1700 if you look at the right times. Otherwise plan on spending 2500 or so on an m1710. As for the XPS being worth it, if you are portable with it, then hell yeah it is worth it. Well i should say its only worth it if you like gaming at 1920x1200 res with every detail maxed out haha. If its going to sit on your desk like mine does....wait for DX10 next week and build a desktop. I really wish i would have done that in the first place.

If your looking for light portable power, the m1210 seems to serve people well also.

As for the people over clocking the GS to GTX speeds, i warn you that with the single pipe i felt it got way to hot with the volt mod.

yeah I was thinking of building a desktop which would prolly serve me the best I suppose... but everytime I plan on building a desktop the allure of a gaming laptop is jsut too much lol. Ah well

It is true that mine was a budget one, but as I said if he can spend 1700 he can upgrade.

Good luck finding a 7900 GTX to upgrade to, and no, you said yours was high end, which it was not.

Careful, hes been reported as a scammer, using the name Peter007 as well, which matches his email. He scammed someone out of 525, doesnt post on here at all either. Hes using someone elses heatware account as his own. Liberty i sent you a PM about this as well. Be careful man and i would really recommend only dealing with active users on here. Hes on the 5th page of the "avoid these users" thread.
