Dealing with acer support?

My ferrari 4000 has given me many problems, but I use it for work so couldnt really go without it, when the LCD stopped working I got an external, when any media started playing in fast forward randomly I paused it and restarted it, now it will no longer see the hard drive. I got it around xmas of last year and after many emails I finally got a response with a number to call.. if I am going to get the run around from the company I will just trash the laptop and get a new macbook early (want to wait for quadcore).. The only other notebook companies I have delt with were sager and alienware, both were decent I got the product fixed and wasnt too costly, as much trouble as I had even contacting someone at acer, I just wanted to get an idea as to what I am getting myself into if I try to send this thing in to be repaired...

I just gave Acer a call yesterday regarding some issue. They seemed to know what they were talking about and were pretty darn eager to help though.

I guess that it depends on the region you are talking about. I only had 2 issues with Acer support here in the UK and both were resolved within a matter of days.

One was as soon as I bought my laptop and the adapter was buzzing. Send an email to UK support, received an answer within a few hours and 2 days later I had a new adapter.
