Well on the site its only a 10 buck difference from a 60 to an 80 (7200).
That makes it too hard to be true.

Here I thought I was the bearer of good news. Seems I stirred something up instead! Thanks for those with supportive comments. Nice beginning to the forums! :-)

Aha! I was going through the three bundled configs instead of a custom.

For the price difference it is the 5,400 RPM unit. Fat fingers on the web maintainer's part (or dyslextic) (or dslyetic).

Now I'm really feeling bad. I feel I got people's hopes up for nothing if Sager simply made a mistake and posted a typo!

ok, this is odd, I see it too. Very strange. I didn't know the tech even existed yet. Perhaps Tom or Adam could take a look and do a verification for us.

Tech exists; however, units produced have yet to "live up" to desired specs. Expect to see these in 3/4 QTR this year... if everything goes good and they don't burn up in the mean time. This was an informal communications I had with a tech from the "H" Company a week or so ago - don't know if he was serious or not; however, suspect he was.

There is no 80 gb at 7200 for only one reason its does not exist yet.
So before he put false news and dissapoint poeple i suggest he check hes source before.
I see it as well. I would imagine its a typo.

This is beginning to concern me, I'm looking here and I only see 80/5400 and 60/7200. I even read it a few dozen times to be sure. What's going on here, anybody have a specific link?

Umm, this has been established. His source was Sager's official website, which seems cause enough to raise the issue, to me. Thanks for clarifying what has already been established in a less rude manner.

I didnt see that link, or the full customisation thing, it seems I've got my blinkers on today . Anyway yeah I see it now. Thanks for letting us know pctorquemada, just a shame it didnt turn out to be true.

Dont suppose anyone has any idea when the 100gb 7200s (or 5400s) will be out? That's the only upgrade I'd consider worth starting again with my system for.

When i use this link http://www.sagernotebook.com/pages/n...oductType=8790
Its true i can see one 80gb at 7200 rpm but its must be a sager mistakes i think.
Anyway pctorquemada i should say sorry for the rude manier i talked to you.
Because even this hard drive does not exist its not your faut if sager website is like twilight zone lol.
And the option for a second drive on the configurator does not offer the 80G 7200
post #38 of 43
. it says on sagernotebooks.com that the 80gb 7200rpm IS listed. Either it is a typo on there part or whatever its not the Informers fault. SO just relax if u need space u can always get 2x 60gbs or an external 250
post #39 of 43
