Will an american laptop work in Britain?

lol well i asked about the RAM- now my friend was thinking about buying the macbook pro from the US... but i said that wouldn't work... mainly due to the fact that when i bought my dell i asked if i would get it cheaper and the guy said it wouldnt work... lol was he just trying to get commission or would there be problems? thanks for any help.

--edit-- obviously i reaise that the power is different but i velieve most modern power cables have a convertor... and if not you could always buy a new power cable.

You just need to get the adapter pack that apple sells. It includes different wall jacks for your AC brick.

No reason what so ever. However (no one has mentioned) keyboard decals and layout will differ.

NEVER belive DELL if you want a straight answer, (that's if you get over the communication language problem which they seem to suffer from !!!).
