Here we are again with NVIDIA's newest Official ForceWare driver. With this new ForceWare driver, marks the debut of the new G3-Series MobileForce driver. With this, the tweaks for both MobileForce XP and MobileForce VS are one and the same, which is one of the major changes. Other than that, the Installer has been updated from version 5.1.5 to version 5.1.8. I hope everything works for you all, and have some fun and frag away!!!

Will not work on Vista RC2... Detects NON- WINDOWS OS...

Am I misunderstanding that this is a unified driver for both Vista and XP?

Or is it just an XP driver...

sorry for the confusion.

XP ONLY driver... All Vista drivers are labeled MobileForce VS. Only the TWEAKS are the same for XP and Vista drivers, and I do soon plan to release a new MobileForce VS driver for Vista.

what i dont get is where this drivers com from... the latest official nvidia forceware driver is 84xx and not 93xx...
So why are the namming them like that! they contain only tweaks... right?

I tried this one and went back to 92.91 G2. This one was making the screen skip while doing a 3DMark 05 test. Almost like internet lag when your playing WoW for thoes familure with LagForge.

What's your take on 96.89, Tony? Evidently it has OpenGL 2.1 in it.
Thx for the driver!! I tried but did not really like it..... Went back to old driver.

Nothing wrong with benchmark, but game doesn't run smooth.

- BAD DRIVER! lol

I might be an isolated case, but this driver took my into the land of BSOD's and lockups. As soon as it detected the display the system hard locked for about 4 minutes. It then became responsive enough to reboot, then as soon as the system came back to the desktop it was locked again. Kinda strange. I got one BSOD followed by a reboot, but unfortunately by the time I seen it, it was gone. Of course I used DCPro and uninstalled in safe mode, etc... but no matter what I have tried, it just wont work right. On one attempt it did load into windows, but when I opened up ATITool, it refused to change clockspeeds to 3D. It got stuck on the 100/100 setting. I then loaded F.E.A.R., which played smoothly for me for a minute, then began stuttering rather badly. When I exited back to desktop, I reopened ATITool, and found that I was now stuck at the 600/800 3D clock, and it refused to go back to 2D.

Anyway, I am back to 92.91G2, which seem to be rather stable on my setup. I just figured I would share my experiences with you guys, for the sake of record keeping. Thanks Tony for keeping us on the bleeding edge, we do appreciate it! Cheers!

Get blue screen while installing and after a reboot system hangs up and gives me another blue screen saying the driver is looped endlessly (don't know how to translate this right from German) and the ressource of the the prob is nv4_displ.

I also get the nv4disp BSOD after booting into windows.

Why don`t you guys with a 7900gs stick to Dell`s stock driver? Compared to all the Forceware-Drivers and whatsoevers it still produces the best benchmark results on my lappy.... I just don`t see the sense.
Because we don't all just run benchmarks. Some drivers work better with other games. That and it wasn't until the 9x.xx series drivers that they implemented the Purevideo technology for HD videos. Check it out.

The Non-Dell drivers allow for viewing of the Temp and some other items that are in the control panel which are not there for the Dell drivers.

Also the dell drivers have always been many revisions behind and have under performed from the nVidia ones.

I'm getting my best benches with the XTreme-G MobileForce 92.91 G2 with the drivers of dell I get 200 points less

Do I need to use the coolbits hack with these? I think I'm using your old drivers and can't get my overclocked 3D settings to 'stick'. They apply but as soon as I exit the properties for the vid card and go back in the settings have returned to default speeds.

Since you have a 7800 GTX, you CANNOT overclock with the drivers. There's a large thread floating around here somewhere about how to overclock the 6800 Ultra\7800 GTX, so just search for it. Essentially, you have to flash the videocard's BIOS to faster speeds to overclock, as Dell has locked the card from within the BIOS.

I've been searching around, and it seems that 93.71 has a really bad memory leak from within the NVIDIA Display Driver Service, and once disabled, the memory leak is gone.

So, for those of you who can get into Windows (either normally or Safe Mode), try disabling the NVIDIA Display Driver Service, as I direct IN THIS THREAD. Hope this helps .

This may explain why I have no problems at all with these drivers, as I outright disable the service as soon as I install the driver (on both my laptop and my desktop).

Thanks, I didn't even know this needed to be done! lol

Back with good/bad news.

Got the overclock working with the bios flash. Played some UT2004 to verify stability, so far so good at 470/1200.

Problem #1: The nvidia software detects the memory clock speed at 2400mhz. I don't recall hearing of this bug. Of course, if this were true, I doubt UT would have run at all.

Problem #2: Longer bootup time. Just after the windows is starting screen it pauses at a black screen, where it used to for a few seconds now does this for about 1-2 minutes, then I get the welcome screen and windows loads fine.

Are either of these known quirks/issues? Considering I usually set my laptop into standby and rarely restart it, #2 is a non issue and so far the overclock is stable so I chalk #1 up to a glitch...

Just so you know, I immediately turned off the nvidia driver service to head-off that catastrophe.

**UPDATE - Problem #2 appears to be a dead/dying external card reader that came with my printer/scanner. I never use it, disabled it in device mangler and all seems well at startup. Still wondering about #1 though...
