XTreme-G MobileForce 93.71 G3 RELEASED!!! - Page 2

Check this thread here about the weird memory speed.

http://www.notebookforums.com/thread180782.html

Appears to be a driver issue, potentially with this new driver. Roll back to the 92.91's or earlier and see if the problem persists. More than likely it was just poor coding in the drivers this time around... Trust me on this, your system would not even boot at those kind of speeds.. lol.

Thanks for the response. I added my $0.02 to that thread.

Driver doesn't work well with my M1710. I have my monitor set to 10 minutes to turn off, and it does. However, when I open the lid of my computer, my display doesn't come back on. The only way to get my display back is to do a hard reset of my system, or to use actual keys to put my system into standby (since I can't see anything), and then bring the system out of standby.

IMHO the best driver is the one Nvidia offers right from their website for 7900 GS and GTX GO gpus. It runs cool, its solid in games(no memory leaks like Dells stock driver) and it runs a good bit cooler. If you are having trouble with drivers and go check it out not many know its even there, heck I just found it myself. You download it like you would a reg desktop one except you check the geoforce go 7 series. It is version 84.63 and might not be as fast as Tonys or have the extra stuff added but its simple and solid.

Thread Starter
Just to give you all a heads up, I'm planning to release a modded version of the ForceWare 97.02 driver that popped up today for NVIDIA's GeForce 8-Series cards (obviously modded to support Mobile cards). Look for that coming up within the next week or so...

2nd XPS M1710 arrived today with the 7950GTX, Clean Windows install. first install was the G3 driver. 50% through the install it gave me the following error:

Stop:0x000000EA

NV4_disp.

cannot boot into any condition other than safe mode w/o windows crashing with this driver.

Funny installed this on my 7700 and alls well. I did disable the Nvidia thingy that was at top of this thread, and it seems to work fine.

...Well after I had reinstalled the stock drivers I ran DC & reinstalled the 93's.. Disabled the Nvidia Service but now I continue to have problems...
-screen resolution resets on every boot to a lower res
-screen goes blank multiple times during boot
-Opening the advanced control panel causes the system to hang for 10 seconds.

-3dMark05 score drops to around 7500
