New Quirk I've Noticed on 9700

I don't know if anyone else has this problem but if I pause music or movies (doesn't have to be with touchkeys) and pick up from where I paused I get nothing but static coming from the speakers (think the static channels on the TV, sounds exactly like that.) Anyone know why it's doing that? Forgot to mention, if I pause again and play again when it's doing that static thing it's back to normal.

Doesn't happen on mine.

Do you have any additional sound programs installed like winamp?

I installed nvidia's sound drivers from their website and after doing that I noticed the speakers to put out that fuzzy sound after resuming from pause. I believe all I did was uninstall the other sound drivers and reinstall the Soundmax drivers too and it is all better.

This is with anything that plays sound, DivX, winamp, WMP, etc I didn't install any other sound driver but I can check on that.

Don't have this problem.

Reinstall the AW sound drivers to make sure it's not a driver issue.

Just did that and didn't want to install after I uninstalled the sound card from the hardware manager, so I rebooted and let XP do it, then used the setup file to update and it went through that time but still does the static thing.

Try muting you're mic input when it's not in use...this may help?!? Does the static also sound from external speakers or headphones?

Very strange. If it wouldn't let you install drivers until the sound was removed, you may have a software conflict with the sound drivers and something you loaded...

Well I ran down with it with an AW techie and we narrowed the origin down to winamp (after he led me along the steps all other audio programs no longer do it just winamp). So as long as it's not the computer I'm satisfied.

I have the same problem ONLY with winamp from the first moment i installed it. Its just winamp, dont bother.

Yeah I'm glad it just came down to winamp myself, initially anything that played audio and could be paused did it, then after the uninstall of winamp nothing did it and reinstalling it only winamp did it
