shattered 6000

Hey,

Long time reader, relatively new poster here but I got a pressing question i need answered. Last week I tripped and fell onto my housemates Inspiron 6000 and shattered the LCD. The housing seems to be all right and still works but a cracked/shattered LCD still sucks. I was looking around on EBay to find a replacement and was wondering... are Inspirion 7600 LCD's cross compatible? I found one going for a good deal! If anyone knows or can tell me the part number for the 6000 LCD (I know it's a 15.4 Samsung, couldn't find anything other than that), or any other model LCD's that would work it'd be a huge help. The warranty is already expired so fixing it myself won't be a problem. Thanks for any help.

Here are the 6000 Dell part numbers:
H7597 - 15.4 WXGA LCD Service Kit (includes LCD & coax cable)
J7415 - 15.4 WUXGA LCD Service Kit (includes LCD & coax cable)
K7207 - 15.4 SXGA+ LCD Service Kit (includes LCD & coax cable)

As far as I can see, there is no such animal as an Inspiron 7600.

Pretty sure it's a H7597 that was broken.... would anyone happen to know if a dell lcd, part number LTN154E1-L01 would work?

LTN154E1-L01 is the Samsung LCD panel model number.

I'd have to guess no without actually trying it.

Here's a WXGA for $375.
