I6000 Hard drive died.....

I'm so depressed right now. My 2 year old dell i6000s's hard drive(60gb Fujitsu @4200 rpm) recently stopped working. I came back from school only to see the hard drive light solid and a black screen. When i rebooted, I could hear the platters try to spin up but then decrease in rpm. This went on untill the screen changed from the dell logo to an error saying that it can not detect a hard drive...I've been using the laptop as a ubuntu server, gaming, and school essays... I can't really afford to wait and look for deals on laptop hard drives so i'm wondering if you guys could help me out in finding a new one asap.

My question is what hard drives can fit in my i6000d. Does it have to be ATA-100 or can it be ATA-6. If you guys could recommend me some good reliable 100gb drives, that would be great.
I don't mind too much if it's a bit expensive, but it must be a reliable drive that can handle running pretty much 24/7 for 3+ years.

Thanks everyone.

Hmm, probably a seagate 5400.3 would be fairly reliable. I have had 4 different hdd's in my i6000. I think I can probably figure why I went through so many. The hdd is right under the right wrist rest spot, and I guess each time you drop your wrists on there, it shocks it a small amount, but after time, it builds up.

Also, the problem I had specifically with my fujitsu was that it ran way too hot for some reason. I was getting temps in the 60's, where any other hdd I had in there was around 45.

It sounds like you got the earlier gen i6000 like me that uses ide instead of sata. Yes, any modern ide spec 2.5" will work fine. I'm currently running my second 7k100 60gb in mine. It's so much faster than any of the 5400's I've used. But it can be noisier, and more prone to failure (I know 3 people with hitachi 7k drives and all of them had one that failed. But all three of us liked them so much that we went for another).
