M5700 Screen HELP!!!!

Hello All,
My screen on my M5700 won't come back on after being out into suspend mode. I tried hooking it up to an external monitor and no dice. Can anyone tell me where the video card is located, how to access it, and if this is a common issue? Any help would be appreciated.

support.alienware.com should provide some answers, as well as calling their TS.

That would be helpful if I had the account info. Here is the jist of my issue. I closed the lid yesterday to help my son with something. I had it closed for about 3 minutes. When I opened the lid and tried to bring the laptop out of suspend mode the screen would not turn back on. We have pulled it apart and reseated everything and still nothing. We also booted it without the video card and the LCD turned on (the screen was white). There was no burning smell or anything unusual prior to this happening or after. The laptop is always used on a firm surface and kept on a cooler (targus). Any thoughts on what the issue might be? Has anyone ever encountered this? I am just stumped.

Well the reason I suggested you call them is because they know their products best. It could be your video card went bad, the LCD power inverter is bad, or the connection on the motherboard is bad, along with a plethora of other things. You just never can tell and the AW tech people know what to ask and what to look for. 1-800-Alienware will get you their automated phone service, and from there the options will guide you to the right department. Sounds like your Alien may be making a trip back to the mothership

Hmm, this is a tough one. Is the system still under warranty? There could be a lot of different possibilities. I wouldn't rule out anything else out though. It could be an issue with the computer not posting.
