Precision M90 and 90 watt supplies

After a bunch of laptop upgrades, I'm left with a handful of 90 watt power supplies. My new box is the M90, and I'm wondering if i can use these 90 watt supplies after boot? I'll keep the 130 watt at home for the more serious work. But, if I can leave the big brick at home.....I think that I would.

Yes you can use the 90 after the system has booted. It will charge very slowly and sometimes not at all (depending on the load) but it will work.

Not sure but by the message it pops when you connect the 90 watt it may also leave the video on the lower "battery" speed. Not sure about this haven't really tested it. Only reason I know about the pop up is I accidently connected the 90W power supply for my D800 once.

Would be interested if anyone knows for sure if the video card stays down clocked.

I'm not overly concerned about wringing max performance out of it (except at home....for fun), so I'm going to pack the 90 watt with me.

M90 battery drain when using a 90W supply?

I would like to do the same with a new M90, which is to use a 90W supply I already own when mobile. I am not overly concerned with max performance, but I am concerned with unnecessarily cycling the battery, or running out of juice when working all day off the 90W supply. So does anyone know if the 90W supply produces enough power so it doesn't drain the battery? Does it make a difference if power supply is connected before or after boot?

This M90 has a 2 Duo 2.33GHZ processor and Nvidia FX2500M video card. I read somewhere that this video card draws more current than the 1500 version.
