Ram customization Q

quick question.

ive got a macbook now with a 1gb 667 stick of ram i bought of newegg in it.

ill be departing with tthis laptop soon and had a question. if i buy a new Upper level macbook, that comes standard with 512x2 667 ram, will they change it out to a 1gbx1 667 ram for me? im assuming my stick of ram will work ok in dual channel with their stick?

as far as customization goes, does this qualify to "throw out" the return policy? i know if apple customizes a laptop for you, something changes as far as that.

thank you!

Nope. I doubt it. I think you can check and see what will cost you extra to do that.

u can do it yourself w/o voiding the warranty.

i know i can do it myself

i was just curious because i already have the 1gbx1 667. i wanted to use a combination of what apple puts in the book, and what i already have.

aha! ok, i read it as if u were asking if they'd install your 1GB for you. it's worth looking into. offhand i don't think the BTO online allows for it so your best bet would be to call it in and ask.

i think i remember someone getting online here and saying they had the apple store do this for them. meaning they switched the 512x2 out for a 1gbx1 stick.

maybe for a little extra money, but if its enough to just buy another 1gb stick, i cant imagine what i would do, haha.
