If this is for the XPS/9100, the antec is too small. The legs hang over and it rests on the chasis and not the legs. Not sure about the nc-500, never seen it.

Vantec makes one as well, with a built in 4 port USB Hub. Bottom link under notebook coolers.

If you buy the antec, I've heard it actually works better to open it up and reverse the fans so they point up. Do a search on the AW forum for antec to read up on this.

Like I said though, if it's for the XPS/9100, the antec is too small I had one and took it back.

No, its for inspiron 8600 with a radeon 9600, and i will use it only when i am going to play because of in normal use the notebook doesnt need a fan.

Thanks

The antec should work fine with the 8600, the gpu doesn't matter. The only reason the XPS/9100 will not work is because of the leg design. From the information I saw I bought the antec. I have heard 2 things about the antec, fan failure on the antec does happen on some of the units, and if you open the antec up and reverse the fans it works better. But if it seems to work sufficiently the right way, I would leave it. I never look at your other option, just the antec and vantec. One thing mentionable about the antec is it is powered by the usb port and uses half the power provided by the USB ports, so it should either be used on a powered usb hub, or with limited other items. If I would have to guess, I would say they are probably all that way, except for maybe the vantec because it has a built in 4 port hub. Not sure though, just thought you would want to know.

I did buy the antec, I never saw the titan. I did see the targus, it looked kinda cheap compared to the antec. I would have bought vantec, but couldn't find one in the stores

So you all bought all these wonderful coolers, which are supposed to cool well and all. Has anyone done any pratical testing apart from someone who used the bytec? Is it worth it? Does the cooler do its job the way its supposed to?

I took mine back for a refund because the XPS laptop didn't fit on it. I've never used one to date. Once I get my AW, I will probably try it again. One main advantages I've heard is that it raises you laptop and screen up a little, but you could use a piece of wood for the same result
