Thinkpad T40/T41

Well I'm in the market for a laptop and I really like the thinkpad T series. I'll have roughly $1800-2000 when I do buy it which will be soon. I'm looking for a laptop with an SXGA screen and well a Radeon 9000 at least. Whats the best place to get a thinkpad for the cheapest amount? I'm also looking for opinions if someone thinks another laptop would be a better choice. I also want good battery life and the extended battery would probably be something I'll think of getting

hmm.. the t40 is a FAST machine, as is the 41 for office apps. As far as gameplaying goes.. I am not sure how the non P will perform.. I didn't actually think that it had a 9000 does i?

The one I'm looking at has the 9000 Mobility... here's the newegg price(cheapest I can find with good specs http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...146-025&depa=0)

I just received by T41p a few days ago, I am going to do a mini review soon (tonight). Suffice it to say I have yet to find a machine this capable, and this well made.

Well does anyone know a cheaper place to get it than newegg, or are there coupons that can be used on the IBM website

I think that model is the best price/performance for an IBM you can get. (other than massive academic discounts).

Well I'm a college student but my school RIT doesn't sell IBM laptops in the school store. Is there another way I can go about getting the academic discount?

I also am a college student. My school doesn't have good IBM discounts either so I just bought that model, best price for what I could get (I looked around alot). Added 512 aftermarket crucial ram and now I'm happy with it

I can get sick discounts on IBM. PM me and I can hook you up. 25% off list. I just got the 23739fu for 2500.
