No guarantees...a quick look over is the best I will probably get...but everyone gets this and I am probably being told the same thing as everyone else

I cannot be bothered by a dead/stuck pixel or two...I understand the technology and the limitations. There is a separate discussion on dead Pixels...lets keep the discussions there.

If you paid $3222 and got a flawed LCD you have all reason to be mad - what you have to understand is that the reason you got all this at $3222 is because of these compromises...otherwise you are looking at a FAR MORE EXPENSIVE laptop...they have to push the costs of rejected LCD's to the end customer

This is not the objective of this thread - please start a separate thread or use the "Dead Pixels" thread.

Sorry, but I used to be a farmer in my earlier life and was taught to "call it the way I see it". It really is bs....

Maybe Adam will provide the "True Story". If not, it's return the unit and that's that. You are not doing PC Torque or Sager any favors with your comments.
I am in total agreement. I NEVER agreed to buying a laptop with a defective screen. I agreed to buy a new laptop that was in working order and functions and displays the way it is supposed to. I understand that there could be problems but to knowingly sell a defective product without warning the consumer is just an outrage and aboslutely wrong. If this is true then back goes my 8790 as well.
I hope Adam or someone can provide the story because I am getting very upset.

I told you what I was told - do you have a problem with that? Stop behaving like a idiot and face the facts. Im on nobody's side and I have one on order too so I have just as much to fear.

"it really is bs" I like your habit of denying everything which you think is false without reasoning

I dont do favours for PC Torque or Sager - I did what I always do - pass on information and I felt this was something that needed to be shared. Instead a idiot like you has to turn against me like im the one doing something wrong.

Go troll elsewhere

Or go someplace where people will keep telling you nice stories with happy endings - what are you stupid or something? Why are you bashing me for passing information? You're retarded - instead of acting on the information I gave you - you have gone ballistic with a personal attack ever been in school or had some kind of formal education ??

G-OMAHA :-
=======

I started this thread with a purpose. There is a separate thread for discussing dead pixels. If there isnt then you are welcome to start one. This thread is NOT for that purpose and if you have any objections please go complain to a mod and see who gets burned for being an idiot.

Stop making personal attacks and calling me a liar which you have no proof of. You were not on the phone with Sager - that was "moi" so what the heck are you trying to use as evidence that I am a liar and full of bs?

None of your posts on this forums have been remotely useful and your abrasive nature isnt endearing so quit now and learn to behave yourself.

Find another thread to troll or else I will take the required action and have you put in your place. i tried to give information - you called it BS and called me a Liar - I think I know who is going out and who gets to stay.

if you cant see whats coming at you you are blind - get a grip!
1) Putting words in my mouth. Never ever called you a liar. You back and check.
2). Wisdom sometimes prevails. Just because you "heard" something does not make it 100% fact and available for publication without verification.
3). Essentially you are infering (no really stating) that Sager/PC Torque are sell defective products. I really don't think this is the case; however, you, as a long time poster is respected and the "facts" that you stated need to be verified. Simply, is it true or not? Not did some one tell you, but who told you.
4). Please take the required actions - I love threats. Since you have all of the "inside influence", this ought to be fun. By the way, what is my "proper place"?
5). I am neither blind nor an idiot. I am old; however, that doesn't pertain to this case.
6). Personal attacks, read you last response and see how friendly that is?

Last comment, I have son's older than you kid... They too "knew it all"!!!

Cheers -

You certainly dont behave like a mature individual. I generally respect age but you started the attack on me without any reason or logic - you took my statements personally for some strange twisted reason.

And you think your attacks were friendly ?? Are you serious that you were being friendly and logical all this time?

"Publication without Verification" What is this place? The IEEE?? No need to teach me how to post and what to post.

You called my statements BS - does that make me an honest man? You should have been a lawyer...hmm...you probably are one

its up to you to verify the facts. I gave the forums whatever information I could glean because it happened to pop up in my converstion with that individual. I dont know why this is SO unbelievable to you.

Threats - not just from me...you havent exactly elongated the list of people who will be sending you christmas cards with your abrasiveness on the forums.

And yes - inside information and inside influence - these are not things you get by being warmongering lunatic and a liar...I trust you know what to "infer" in this case.

gs, no offense, but i think you over-react a bit. And if discussing something (dead pixels) in your thread that you first mentioned is off topic, than what is on topic? If somewhere to say that they too recieved an 8790 or that they liked sager, would that be off topic as well?

I'm not trolling or flaming here, just makes no sense to me.

What is ON-TOPIC is that this thread is meant for me to present my experience with the order and the notebook - not for you or anyone to discuss dead pixels. Dead pixels have been discussed in detail on other threads dedicated to that subject. I dont want my thread crapped up with unnecessary discussions.

I hope this makes sense to you

my oh my. Mr. GS, you are getting way out of line. They were just trying to bring up some very valid points. chill/pill.. gheez... take one.

I recommend the Dead Pixel thread - simple..

I started this thread to keep my reports in one place - not to give you'll space to discuss what you want - you have the rest of the forums to do this.

Im very cool about this marcah...dont worry

thanks for the education...much needed for someone with 4 posts to comment about my posting ability

Find the information you need, supply the information you have and stay out of arguments. Your comments are more appropriate as PM's - has everyone gone mad on the forums??

It's good to see someone else is taking this route as well. When I ordered my 4780 a month and 5 days ago, I told myself that A. I was pretty sure I am lucky enough to not get a dead/stuck pixel, and B. that if I did it wouldn't be that bad and I could live with it.

When I recieved my 4780, and noticed my stuck green pixel, i wanted to cry. It is in the top left hand corner, and most of the time isn't very noticable(especially if I use a wallpaper that completely negates it, someone with a white background). In games however, it is kind of hard not to see it but when you get into some serious UT2004 action you can't notice it because you are concentrating on killing people. The same applies for when I am designing a website, or browsing an interesting forum or website. I just don't notice it.

Now I am back to living with it. I don't care anymore, and I don't think I ever will again. I thought about sending it back when the 8790 released, and getting one instead but my laptop has been flawless besides the pixel and I really didn't want to risk any other problems. I also would have had to drop around 200$ into shipping just to get it there in time.

All in all, I love my laptop and am glad you finally got a new laptop!

Good luck with it man.

Here are some nanas as well:

I bet he is going to give a FULL report, just read his review on the 5660.. phew.. I began to sweat here in Florida. (Or maybe that's because I only have 1 slow fan blowing an overclocked AMD Computer that gets hella hot )

Most warranties have the wording to the effect of "manufacturing defect". If my screen is defective "out the box", then it is indeed a "manufacturing defect".

That being said, I will gladly pay an extra hundred bucks or so for a mail-order house to sell me a latop with some sort of insurance against screen defects (which I am sure those that don't opt for this insurance will be the unlucky bastards that will get stuck with the defective screens).
