W3J, X1600 driver and splinter Cell: Double Agent

I've never messed with video drivers and don't want to screw this one up.

Has anyone been able to run Double Agent on a W3J? When I run the hardware diagnostic, it tells me that my X1600 driver (driver version: 6587) is not compatible. The ATI website says that the driver update available on the website is incompatible with my system (based on the web diagnostic). Any idea what the quickest way to fix this problem is?

If I should upgrade to the Omega drivers, I'd appreciate some help. I have Driver Cleaner Pro, but I don't know exactly what to remove. There are multiple ATI options in the pulldown (ATI CCC, IGP, etc) , including one that is called ATI alone. Do I choose "ATI"? After uninstalling the driver, do I simply run the Omega exe. file to install the new driver?

Thanks,
Brian

Is it possible that I'll screw up and be unable to access the screen?

Thanks

Welcome... AFAIK, if we remove the video driver, Windows will go back to standard vga video driver, or it will reboot and ask for another vga driver. I don't think you will be unable to access the screen if you remove the video driver.
