So, I came into work at 6am this morning to work on an extremely important project that MUST get done today. Clear off my desk, plug everything in and...nothing. My machine won't power up. Aaaaah! Brand new 5660, no power.

I ran to another workstation and checked out the Sager Forums. I reviewed 3 pages of comments and the only thing I could immediately find was a bit about my CMOS being tweaked. Huh?

I was getting slightly frantic a result of my pending deadline, so I called Adam directly. I figured, hey, if he's up, maybe he'll answer. We know they're not up in CA right now.

Adam did answer. Right away. [He explained he'd been up since 2:30am because the the baloney going on in the forums...I have a lot of sympathy for him, as I've moderated some hot-topic lists for years.]

He walked me through opening the machine and looking for my CMOS battery...which we realized wasn't right out in the open anyway. SOLUTION: with the battery out and AC unplugged, hold the power button down for ~10 seconds. THEN try it.

Bingo. All set. Back to work. I'm hardly a tech newbie, but I was glad the problem was so easily resolved. I'm going to post a shorter version of this message over in the Tech Forum in the even that someone else looks for it again.

And, I'm pleased enough with his response to compose this letter before getting to my important work. Thanks, Adam. And don't let the boneheads from other resellers get you down.
