Prostar D900T Upgrade?

Hello,

I have a Prostar D900T(9860) with an ATI Radeon Mobility X800. I have the 5.2 version motherboard so upgrading to the Nvidia Geforce Go 7900 is out of the question, so I was wandering if I would be able to upgrade to the ATI Radeon Mobility X1800XT or does that graphics board also require version 6.1+ of my motherboard? Is the X1800XT available for the (D900T)9800 series ?

On the Sager side we have never had the X1800XT. If my memory is correct the only ATI card we have carried is the X800 series or the 98xx laptops.

I gather the 7900 GTX 512MB is pretty much the end of line for the 9800 series. Am I pretty much on target by thinking the 9890 is the last of the P4 line laptops

You are right, the 7900 is as far as the 9890 can go at this time. As far was i know the replacement model for the 9890 will not come until next year.

I figured. No biggie.

I'll be happy with my 9890 until the DirectX 10 mobile cards are in full swing.

Without a doubt the P4 will be soon phased out anyway....at this point they have become old, firebreathing beasts which have become overshadowed by new cores.
