how?

cat /dev/battery?

Mine was something like 'cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT[0 or 1]/info'. Ah, how do I love the all-mighty tab-fill.

Thanks Mikhail. I'm curious as to wether or not I can get the last full charge up to 4000mAh again. Not that it ever was there. It's interesting that under Linux with ACPI enabled we can see and monitor all/most functions of the system board, where as under window XP anyway the temps are hidden, and the granularity of the info we do get is very top level.
@ Colin
yeah it is cat /proc/acpi/battery/BATX/info.
Thanks again guys.

Thats because windows sucks -

..... is it ever so sweet to have GKrellM2 running on the side, giving you all kinds of info INCLUDING CPU TEMPERATURE...
I used to be a big fan of gkrellm but recently its gotten a little clunky. I resorted to writing my on side bar apps to do it.

Looks sweet!

As weird as it may be, I have still to find a GKrellM skin that fits better than the original.

Often the way - the original is the best. Keep in mind that the backlight colour of my apps can be changed to pretty much whatever you like, change themes - change backlight colour. Also keep in mind the disk usage guage doesnt flash like that all the time - one is the alternate view. If you are remotely interested in them check out dockapps.org
