BisonCam, USB2.0 WebCam No action required

That's the result from the latest advisor version for the camera integrated into the cover above the screen of my 9860. I seem to recall having to d/l the driver from Vista Update after installation with RC1; the driver is probably integrated in the final release media. Either your hardware is slightly different, or perhaps you ran an old copy of the advisor.

I just downloaded and installed the newest windows vista upgrade advisor. It tells me that the ExpressCard "needs action" and that my bluetooth software is no good. I can live without the BlueSoleil software because the bluetooth module is plug and play (windows installs a driver that works fine) but I need that ExpressCard slot because I have a eSATA card in there that connects to my external HD. Says it's a Texas Instruments thing, I guess TI would release updated drivers for it?

*EDIT* not the expresscard - I looked under Device Manager and I think it's the card readers. I need that too, I take lots of pictures =(

"needs action" implies there is a driver out there somewhere. Could be TI is developing a driver, or maybe there's one on Windows Vista Update. My laptop also has an itegrated TI card reader, but my particular model is supported in Vista. Other notebook manufacturers like this one: ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/note...cardreader.zip might be another avenue to try assuming you don't find it otherwise.

Did the eSATA card come with drivers itself? If worse comes to worse, external USB readers can be bought pretty cheap, but of course you'd be limited to USB speeds.

Yeah, the drivers came on a driver CD that came with my Sager laptop. I have emailed DiscountLaptops, who emailed Sager, and they told me that they would put out Vista drivers for the card reader and the ExpressCard slot.

The upgrade advisor only mentions the sound chipset on mine. Has anyone verified if the upgrade advisor software is accurate on this? Has anyone tried it anyway and hoped for the best? Any willing guinea pigs? hehe
