Learning Notebook Internals and Repair

Hi,
I was kind of interested in learning how to troubleshoot laptop / notebook troubleshooting and repair since I basically have a laptop with a warranty that's valid only in the States (and I'm currently outside the States) . Any recommendations? The only book that I've run into so far that kinds of touches on the subject is: Upgrading and Repairing Laptops (2nd edition) and it's reviews aren't really very encouraging. Thanks for your help.

Ryan..

I'm a work now but I have a web link that has several laptop manufacturer schematics and service manuals. I'll post you the link when I get home later today (5PM EST). It'll help you get started. You can take learning laptop repair to a board swap level or component troubleshooting level. Post ya something later today.

Okay Ryan....

You can find some laptop manuals and schematics here:

http://www.eserviceinfo.com/equipmen...ebooks_43.html

Most of them you have to pay for now a days....
This is just a free site I know of...

If you want Dell exclusive, I have availability to the Dell Certified Systems Expert material but we would have to take this to PM for further discussion. It has engineering training material for all Dell laptops, desktops and printers.

Thanks a lot for your help. I was looking for either something general or something HP specific, since I have the dv9000.
