spent all day with AW tech.. they had me run stress tests, take the laptop apart, reseat the video card.. when we had the laptop apart i noticed that the gel like thing thats on top of the video card had a little chunk that was broken off... they told me to pull that off and i told them about it. they were stumped for a second.
i told them i had some artic silver and i could put that on and they told me i could do that.. unfortunately there isnt enough contact with the GPU and the computer didnt like it. the video card temp kept going up and up..
meanwhile, the cpu kept over heating and for some reason the fans would not turn on.. we flashed the bios again and it did not help. so they told me to RMA the machine.
I however was not happy with that, so i opened the laptop up, cleaned the gunk AW paste on the cpu and applied AC5 on there, then i made sure that the broken part of the gel that was on the GPU wasnt on the core and used the rest of the piece to fully coat the GPU core.
right now the system is stable but the CPU temp is around 65 C under load.. Before that it would shut down. The CPU idles around 50 C.
I still have the RMA open and I will most likely send it in tomm.
