Echo Indigo problem

I was all excited that my Indigo was arriving today, but I am not getting clear sound; I am getting static in the background

I'll be contacting Echo tech support tomorrow if I don't get this figured out tonight. I have the latest drivers; I've re-installed the drivers twice; I've checked all connections; I've been through the troubleshooting program; fooled around w/ volume controls, checked for hardware conflicts. I know there is a Sager model that doesn't work w/ the Indigo, but that isn't it either; I'm trying to run this on an ABS zForce F2.

Anybody have any ideas on what is going on?
