just wanted you guys ta know that i did the chassis mod, and man does my 8600 feel more solid. And it's much more professional lookin'.
i took my lappy home with me, and my dad, who has the M60 was like, "where'd you get the money ta get an M60???" HAHAHAHA

my $1600 8600 looks just like my dad's $3500 M60, hehehehe And it feels exactly the same.

also, i'm about to do an LED mod for the lights on the center console. love the power button LED that the D800 has, but i want it ta be BLUE I do cellphone mods, and the LEDs look about the same size, so i'll be doin' that tomorrow after my last FINAL!!!!!! YEA!!!!!!! What color should i make the power button, battery, and CPU thinking LEDs??? I have blue, red, and white LEDs to play with.

hey guy,
I'm seriously thinking about doing the chasis mod for my I8600. But unfortunately i can't find the center console/power button cover piece on Ebay for days now. I saw one for bit but i jumped in too late and some guy "feng_" something outbid me. Anyway, do you know where to get that particular center console piece???? All the other parts are available pretty readily. Thanks for any input!

send this guy an e-mail: ajm123us1@hotmail.com
His name's Aaron. Really really cool guy. I got the outter LCD lid, inner LCD trim bezel, and palm rest from him. All were basically in brand new condition! I don't know if he has any center consoles left, but you can ask him, i'm sure he'll look for you. But yea, def. do the chassis mod., it's def. worth it!

Here's one for the I8500 that would be compatible...aside from the 8500 logo.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! So you were the one I was bidding againstt!!! I tried to be slick and waited till there were only 4 mins left to bid on it. I outbidded you but then out of nowhere you came back with a higher bid! I came back with with another bid ( i think it was $6.50) but time ran out!!! I was pissed knowing that the center console is hard to find. Anyway, enjoy and happy modding! Where are you from by the way?

I also added that to my watching list, and was going to bid in last 5 secs. However, I went to bed and forgot it.

Whatever happened to the tutorial on putting the LED in the top behind the screen. I really want to change mine out, but don't know how the LED was wired in those pics.
