6000D Mother Board Died

Sent my laptop in to out of warranty depot($214).
They told me I needed a new motherboard ($299).

So $513 to repair my 1 1/2 laptop.

Told them that's ridiculous.
Not buying a DELL Again.

I would like to get my laptop fixed but for $513 and Black Friday coming up I think I will look to other computer brands.

What do you expect?? Laptops are very expensive to repair, especially a big thing the like mobo. And they can charge alot because they know pple cant do this themselves. You can go to ANY other manufacturer, and if u try to get ur mobo replaced out of warranty it will cost the same. Dont think that if u buy a sony, or hp or watver else you wont have the same cost out of warranty.

What you should do next time is buy the extended warranty. For $150 or so depending on the manufacturer u get an extra 2 years of protection. Better that then the $500+ for what you had to do.

You could try looking on ebay for a motherboard to replace your's with. Could turn out to be only around $100

go to http://www.parts-people.com/ and grab a used mobo and install it yourself, its quite easy
