Turion drivers...........? - Page 2

mm, well i managed to get the alx to boot with the geforece mobile drivers. seeing the same as shazz tbh, 3dmark05 is down but generally fps seems to be up. its had some bad effects on oblivion tho, lighting is all buggered up.

nevermind, gonna revert to the stock drivers, they seem to give a decent mix of looks and performance. dont look like i'm gonna break 12k 05 for the time being 11.5 will do, thanks for your help guys

thanks for that hammerhead....but i have another issue now lol.

gfx drivers : latest is 93.71 if i remember? my forceware version is 84.22. when i run the latest forceware install it says 'Setup cannot find any drivers for the hardware on your system, setup will now close"

i assume i am trying to install the wrong drivers obviously but from what i can see they should be the right ones

also, not quite at 12k yet, the turion driver put me upto 11.5

I'm still using the AW 8.4.7.4 drivers with the INF file I got from laptopvideo2go.com so I can use coolbits.

Using windows to search for drivers won't help much as they only list official drivers from Nvidia, and Nvidia is showing older drivers than AW at the moment for mobile 7900gs.

What you need to do if you want the newer drivers from laptopvideo2go.com is download the driver, then download the custom INF file also. Unzip the driver package, then put the INF file into that folder. You'll get a "are you sure you want to replace this file" warning, click yes.

Then go to the device manager, and click "update driver". It will open a wizard. Don't let windows search, check the boxes that say "not this time", or "I'll specify". Then when you get to the screen that has the "have disk" button, click on that and point the wizard to the folder where you have the new drivers downloaded and unzipped. It'll take it from there.

Hmm I'm getting about 1500 with 3DMark 05 on my mALX what graphics drivers are you guys using? I've tried to install modified drivers but have been having problems usilng them with SLI enabled.

By the way guys does anyone know if the mALX gforce 9700 gtx cards come with a temperature gauge? I've installed coolbits but I'm not getting the option to monitor the heat on the cards.
have you try NVtemplogger ??? im not sure if the card has a temp gauge i guess it should....
cool thats an awsome little program thanks for the tip I cant try it out on my mALX yet though because my inlaws are here for the next week arg!
Nope NVtemplogger wont work on the mALX I guess the cards dont have temp monitoring, that really sucks!
I'm sure there are temp sensors in the cards, but it has to be in the driver package... Hopefully when AW updates the drivers for you guys it'll be enabled in those.

Have you mALX guys tried Rivatuner? It works great for my m9700.
yeah Rivatuner wont show the temp settings either
post #32 of 33
I'm sure the vid cards have the sensors in there, maybe Clevo didn't enable it in the motherboard... Very strange.

Maybe they don't want you to know how hot they get...

I hope there's some way to monitor it, I'm getting blue screen crashes every now and then that i think might be the card overheating. Cant test it though grrr
