I downloaded the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor RC app from the Microsoft Vista site and ran it. It reported that Vista should install with no problems (It did list "potential" issues with the following hardware: Bison Camera, SmartLink Modem).

Feeling optimistic (I had been running Vista RC1/2 in a virtual machine for a couple months) I downloaded Vista from MSDN Subscriber Downloads and attempted to install it. After completing the Compatibility Check phase of the install, setup produced the following result (along with the "potential" issues list):

---
Close Windows installation and contact the device manufacturer for updated driver software for these devices:
SCSI and RAID controllers: Promise Technology Inc. Ultra IDE Controller
---

NOTE: I have RAID disabled (the two switches in down positions).

I would have expedted Promise to have supplied Microsoft with a Vista-compatible driver. Of course, there is no info on the Promise or the Sager support site vis a vis Vista.

Does anyone have a clue what workaround might work?
Has anyone else had the same problem?
