That is not completely accurate, at least in the way it seems you wrote it.
The case cracking was not a temporary manufacturing error caused by improper hinge tension--it was a design defect. Many, many 56xx series model owners will tell you that their hinges were loose or they loosened them and the cracks still occured.
If you mean temporary in that it does not occur anymore, then that is more accurate since the issue was primarily one that impacted the 56xx series, as implied by the latter half of your statement, then that is more correct.
I'm not complaining or trying to add to any hysteria--just aiming for accuracy. Many laptops will see cracked cases around the hinges--got a shelf with an HP, IBM, and a Dell right in front of me. But such cracks are fwe and far between and occur seemingly at random. The 56xx series, though, was clearly an issue that was more than simple hinge tightness
Once again, as noted, it does not seem to be an issue with any current models.
