Good gaming laptop?

I am up in the air if I wanted a tablet, laptop, or gaming laptop and have finally decided on the two latter. I was a laptop that's good for portability but can also handle it's fair share of gaming. I was hoping to get a great 15"er with like a 7800 or better, but they seem to be few and far between. I guess I'm stuck with a 17"er which isn't necessarily bad, but can't be good for battery life. Oh well. What are your suggestions? I was at least a dual core and good dedicated graphics card, but battery life/warranty are important for me also. My budge is about $2500 so let me know what you recommed!

there is no 15inch with 7800 or better... m90 from outlet cant go wrong with it

or put in some extra cash and get a m1710 from one of the resellers on the forsale section

That is a large budget so you can pretty much get anything out there, I would suggest looking at the Asus A8Js, that would be way under your budget if you are looking to save some money, it is 14" (1440x900), has C2D, and a Nvidia 7700 GPU.

How's that 7700 for gaming though? Right now I've been really into the BF series (2142 specifically) and right now my current system as it running on low....... I'd like to make an improvement over that. How is it compared with like a 7900 GTX 512, or 7900 GS 256?

Thanks for the suggestion though, I was surprised to find that little 14"er with a 7700 in it. I passed on the M1210 though because I read reviews of the 7400 Go..............

Heres a thread about the A8Js benchmarks and other things, I don't own one but I'm sure it will play BF2 at higher than low settings. Also Milestonepc.com has the new G1 for preorder, it is 15.4" (higher resolution, can't remember at the moment) It is supposed to be made for gamers, it is like $1700 but comes with 2GB of RAM. The link for this notebook is.....

The nice 15.4" G1 is nice but I'm not impressed. It's got the same GPU as the A8J and that's what was really important to me so I think I'll pass. So far I'm fairly serious about these brands of gaming notesbooks in order of preference: Sager, XPS, and Asus. I guess I'll do some more reseach on the specific models these have and try to narrow it down.

Ok so if you are getting a Sager you will have DTR, (I know nothing about Sagers except that they are large/expensive) XPS-->you are gonna want the 1710 with 7900gs, 7900gtx or 7950 (1210 only has 7400GPU and 2010 only has x1800GPU and it is more of a brief case) and the best place to buy one is on these forums, their are some resellers that kill Dell prices on these notebooks, fully maxed out w/ good warranties.

the m9700 with the free sli upgrade from the alienware holiday shop is just an awesome deal. dual 7900s and a 2.0ghz amd processor for $1780 is great.

Other then that id say go with a sager with 7950gtx if your willing to pay $2500.

Eh, i just configured one with the minimum specs and it came out to $1906 with shipping and tax. I guess if you're in one of those states where they're not going to charge you tax then it's a pretty good deal. But still, It's not that good since you're probably going to want to put another gig of ram in there if not 2 gigs. And then you're going to have to be satisfied with the wxga resolution and 60gig hdd. And not to mention it's only a single core processor. So you'll probably have to spend another $100-250 on ram/hdd upgrades. Then there's alienwares support...

The best deals are the dell e1705 with coupons or the e1705/m1710/m90 on the outlet you can get a nice computer for $1400-1800. And the asus A8Js for $1500-$1600(depends where you buy), it comes with C2D t7200, 1gig ram, 100gig hdd, go 7700, 14.1inch 1440x900 screen.
