Tycoon, Flight Simulator, Sims 2 games on m3450

I'm in the process of shopping for a new notebook. I'm firmly set on getting something with a 14" screen (or smaller). So, I run across a review for the Alienware Sentia m3450, complete with the dreaded integrated graphics. Unfortunately, I've yet to run across a 14" notebook with a dedicated graphics card.

I would greatly appreciate any input regarding how these specific games will play on the m3450:

Roller Coaster Tycoon 3
Zoo Tycoon 2
Flight Simulator Century of Flight
Sims 2

Thanks in advance!

The tycoon and sims games might run minus any eye candy and lower resolutions
Flight Sim, will probably be a painful experience at best.

Sorry to tell u but while these are not the most taxing games on the shelf (although filght sim can be) intels inegrated grfx just cant do games.
There is an intel webpage with game compatability list (use google) but even games marked as compatible still usually only run at lower resolutions w/o eye candy and sometimes just barely at that.

So for ANY laptop gaming except mine sweeper, intel grfx is a horrible choice. That being said, u need to search harder b/c there are plenty of 14" laptops w/ dedicated grfx.

Thanks for the information. I shoud have added that my budget is under $1000, thus ruling out some of the 14 inch notebooks that do in fact have decent graphics cards.

well, thats ur problem then, extra graphics cost more plain and simple, if u cant sfford it now u have 2 choices, increase your budget or wait untill prices come down some more which ALWAYS happens. That being said, u can still get a laptop with good grfx for under 1000, u just have to sacrafice everywhere else like ram hdd and processor.

balderdash, with sli and dual core boards, this is not the case!!!!

Heck even the (years old)MobileNV6200 out preforms intels next chip the gma965(yet to be released), so "fairly high specs" is a "fairly inadequate description" of what he thinks hes running

I'm not saying that the integrated chip is good or comparable to any other card, I am just stating that I run these games with almost all the options on medium or full (1024x768 @ 16bit). Of course it still runs better on my other machines that have dedicated cards, I just just informing that you can play some games fairly well.

The list of games you can't play is to long to buy the system as a gaming laptop, but for a quick DOW or UT2004 session it is fine
