Upgrade advice

Ok, here's the situation. I've got the following setup
AMD x2 3800+ (socket 939)
ATI 9800Pro
Asus a8v deluxe

I've been trying to hold off on upgrading until some DX10 cards came out but I don't want to spend more than $300 on a card, which means I'll probably have to wait until March or April for a dx10 card to come out in that price range (or so I've read). My brother has a SLI ready mobo with one EVGA 7600gt in it, so it hit me that I could just get one of those to carry me over until a good dx10 card comes out and then give that to him 2 upgrades for the price of 1 (more like 2 for the price of 1/2 at the black friday prices lol). So now I just have to pick out a socket 939 mobo with pcie. My question is whether or not I should get a mobo with 2 pcie slots or just 1. I don't know if the 3800+ is going to be a bottleneck before I feel the need to get a 2nd nVidia/AMDti card. And if it does, at that point 939 will probably be long dead and I won't be able to upgrade the cpu. Then again, I don't want to spend an extra $50-$60 on a pcie slot that will never get used. Thoughts?

Upgrading is a funny thing, sometimes I fell like I should upgrade my hardware (in sig) but then I realize that my PC's do everything I need them to. But if you just really want new hardware or actually need it for the newest games then I would just use your bro's MB, by another 7600GT (cheap), and OC the AMD 3800, I would think that the 3800 should be good for a while, especially if you get a good OC on it. But like I said earlier try not to get into the hype of new hardware coming out b/c right when you upgrade something newer and better hits the market then it just starts all over again.

if you upgrade, and you are not wanting to go SLI dont get an SLI Board. However, if you get an SLI ready board, get your DX10 card when it comes up, then slap another one in there, bam, you've got a killer setup. Yet again, you could always look at it like, you can get an SLI ready board, right now, get 2 GeForce 7900GT's and be just as fast as a DX10 card righ t now. let the dx10 card comes down in price then do SLI on those.
