Please read the whole post before jumping into this. Everything is explained as we know it right now.
If you have a Sager 8880, 8882, or 8886 and would like to upgrade to the new 8887 motherboard and 128MB video card, you're in luck! =)
$595 parts and labor ($495 if you bought within the last year of doing the upgrade), customer pays shipping to and from Sager. They will use your old processor and the motherboard will auto detect it even if it's the older 400 FSB. If you wish to go to a 533 FSB processor, you can purchase it through Sager directly and we do not have the pricing for this yet. To upgrade the processor, it may not be a trade up, it may require buying the new processor through Sager and they will send the old one back with the upgraded unit. They are still working this part out of whether or not they can do a trade up, so don't expect it as of right now.
For future upgrades, keep your fingers crossed and it may depend on how well this goes.
Customers are required to back up any data they wish to keep because Sager will put on a new pre-load of the OS with the latest drivers.
The new motherboard will have a 1 year warranty and the rest of the system's warranty will remain in place unchanged.
Please don't jump all over it just yet, there are a couple details to be worked out and we'll give you the go ahead to call and jump on this upgrade. They have to brief all the staff to be able to answer your questions and take care of everyone requesting this service. I just wanted to give everyone the heads up that it was approved and they're all but ready to start taking orders!

For the 8886 and HT... The Intel 845E chipset in the case of the 8886 revision does not support the 3.06GHZ CPU due to the 70WATTs required to run stable with HT... the 8886 version of the motherboard only supports up to 60WATTs and therefor they will not release the 3.06 processor even without HT for the 8886 since the motherboard was designed for 2.0 - 2.8GHZ.

The 5660 is the same case as the 8886 and it looks as though they will not release the 3.06 with HT in it. They are looking at a new motherboard revision which will also include the 128MB video and be known as the "5670". There are no dates on this as of yet.

Sager is doing everything they can to give the customers what they want and what they deserve. We don't have national commercials, so it's up to you guys to get the word out =).
