z70v: biggest hard drive it can support?

Right now I have a 60gb 7200rpm drive and I have 1gb left of free space. I need an upgrade soon. I don't want an external, and I am willing to pay the extra price for having a bigger laptop hard drive.

However, what is the biggest capacity that the z70v can handle?

I don't know if I should get the 160gb now, or if the 200gb/250gb can be supported, wait for those.

Thanks!

it can support any 2.5" PATA hard drive. You're only limited by what's available right now

There are no limits that I know of.

Side question for Djembe:

What's the Adiós! part of your profile and why is it there?

just a trend I got from the Reputation Experimentation Thread. one member changed his user title to Adios!, then another changed her title to Adios? and another changed to !soidA, so I decided to go with the accented version. It's called a user title and you can change yours in "User profile" to whatever you want (except moderator, administrator, or words not allowed on the forum, like for instance ************) edit: d'oh! you've already got a custom user title so you already know this stuff.

Can an Asus reseller post on this topic to confirm that there is no limit? I'm a bit weary of dishing out so much money and not have it work..

Any PATA 2.5" notebook drive will work... curretly I would recommend the Seagate Perpendicular 160GB 5400RPM drive.
Do some research or search the forums [I remember posting info about this a while ago] about the technology... it's really cool stuff.
Spins at the same 5400RPM, but performs really well so you don't have to waste power [like a 7200RPM drive].

Let me know if you have any other questions!

i do believe that samsung has a 200gb perpendicular pata 2.5" drive. search newegg.com or cheifvalue.com , my two favorite retailers online.

Never seen that model before... I know of 160GB as of yet, and I would definitely recommend Seagate over the others [best warranty, solid product].
