Can anyone help?

Force install it as a 7900GTX. I couldn't find a Vista driver that even knew what a 7950GTX is.

Manually select 7900GTX from the list. Don't automatically look for it which is the default.

Thanks Jeff working great now. By the way which driver are you using for audio. Im using the default one but cannot see an option for the subwoofer.

I'm actually running the 97.19 driver if the built in one gives you trouble. Neither are perfect but the 97.19 seems to like Aero better.

I'm using the stock driver, subwoofer doesn't work for me. That said, I don't care because I can't stand the sound from the laptop anyway, I always plug in headphones. Stock is good enough for windows sounds.

Do you guys get texture artifacting in Counter Strike: Source or other games?

If your have problems with game in vista turn aero glass off. I haven't found a driver yet that work with games and areo glass on. With it on i get texture tearing and if i Alt-tab out of the game the screen flicker on and off.

Right click desktop->Personalize

Choose Windows Color and Appearance and at the bottom click "Open classic appearance properties for more color options"

Choose Windows Vista Basic instead of Windows Aero.

And no it wasn't a dumb question, it's tought to find.

Well, it seems I can't win. The 97.19 driver works flawlessly in Couterstrike:Source, even without disabling aero glass.

But it still sucks at detecting my second monitor over DVI... Basically everytime I reboot, I need to go enable the second monitor (my external LCD). A pain in the butt, considering my laptop is in a docking station. To make matters worse, I can't open the lid as I have a monitor stand over the dock...

Again, back to vista. You'd think they'd have tested these things!

Get the XP driver from Dell and install it, this gives you the sub back.

Its not Microsoft at fault, its nVidia havent pulled their finger out yet...
as for getting the subwoofer working, just install the XP Dell driver, this will enable the woofer...

Shouldn't dell be releasing the drivers soon since RTM is basically out?
They are showing Vista 32 and Vista 64 as an option on the Downloads section, but so far no drivers are listed.

I just installed Vista Business last night since we have a corporate license. It's really nice from what I have seen. I refuse to install any XP drivers on it thou. I will just continue to wait for the official Dell Vista drivers to be posted.

The only thing I did do was find a hacked nVidia go driver because Aero and WoW did not play nicely together. You should have seen some of the artifacts I was getting.
