NP 3880 wont turn on!

So i got my 3880 last april and in august i had a problem where it wouldnt turn on. when i had it charging or running on ac, i'd push the power button and the lights would turn off then back on and it wouldnt even try to boot. i got frustrated and left it alone for a few days, then it started working again. Now I have the same problem again. any ideas besides leaving it alone?

Listen!!! I just got the same problem - I bought 3880 in Aug 05 and today the laptop would not turn on at all. Whatever you describe is exactly happening to me. I noticed that battery is still charging till the LED light becomes green, but it wont' turn on at all. I am thinking maybe there is a problem with the area where you plug in the AC adapter or something got fried. I just emailed and called PCTorque, as I got extended warranty with them. So hopefully they will reply fast...

i have a clevo m38aw, it starts to boot but stops as it checks ram, makes a clunk noise.

Usually caused by faulty power plug. Common for all notebooks to get damaged around this area because the plug gets knocked and it is connected to the motherboard and the solder cracks. Then no more power, and the battery is usually exhausted. The plugs are cheap to buy. The hardest bit is pulling it all apart and replacing the jack.
