Some of this was posted in the Sager Support forum, but decided to move it over to here.
I bought my 9750 in March from PCTorque.com and has worked flawlessly.
Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) it decided it would not boot, specifically, it will not POST. Scans the DVD/CD's and HD's but will not get past that point and give you a BIO's screen.
I tried removing both DVD's and the hard drives to see if that is the issue, but it still dies. Tried removing the RAM one stick at a time, no dice. Then tried swapping sticks and slots to see if it a slot incompatibility issue has crept up. No worky either.
Don’t want to go to much farther and break the warrantee.
Now it Friday at 1 PM here on the east coast and I attempt to call Sager to get a RMA number to send it back. No answer. This really is no surprise, since it is Black Friday. I miss my machine.
This feeling is stupid, since I have 12 other systems in my home (eight are rack mounted) and my “Desktop” machine is a Dual 3.4G Xeon Box……. But the Sager 9750 is my primary………………… Go Figure………
Well, it's Monday, around 2PM eastern time and I attempt to call Sager. They picked up after two rings and promptly connected me with Tech Support. They asked some questions and then wanted to see if I could do some basic troubleshooting before I sent it back. Told them all that I have done. I guess he figured out that I am not a typical user but someone who as done this stuff before, and he then told me that the machine needs to come back for repair or replacement. Then they gave me my RMA number and all was right in my world....
I had to call back about an hour later, because I forgot to ask just what pieces that needed to be returned. Talked to Allen and he said that since the power supply appeared to work properly ( I concurred), that only the computer needs to come back.
Very professional... I am sending it out tomorrow.
I figure that I will get it back about the same time my early xmis present, a new Sony XBR2 60” HDTV arrives……. I already have a DVI to HDMI cable ready to see how the gaming of the 9750 output to the HDTV looks like…..
