need help with a bag for 8890

Thread Starter
hi,
i'm looking for a laptop bag for my 8890. i would also like to carry with it my audio component, which measures 3.6" x 9" x 3.6". the case i'm looking at is this http://www.ebags.com/sumdex/computer...modelid=13704#

i haven't had bought a laptop bag before, and am quite confused to on what to get. my main concern is protection and padding when i store the bag in an overhead compartment of an airplane. would the bag i listed be giving enough protection. any other recommended bags? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have three cases for my lappy. I use the case that came with it for a work type look, the Targus Platinum notebook case (just for getting around) and the Targus Sport Deluxe Notebook Backpack. Now the backpack is for my LAN meets. I can get my lappy and a few other things (RJ45, CD case with games, music, ect.) in with it. Both Targus bags/case have very good padding so protection won't be an issue. I hope this help a little

I strongly recommend the stuff sold by http://www.sfbags.com/ . Handmade in San Francisco, and the customer service is incredible, just like PCTorque's. The padding is excellent, particularly when coupled with a SleeveCase (if you're unsure which'll fit, just email them with the measurements of the 8890, and they can tell you which one will fit it like a glove!)

Yes!

Yes,

I got mine at CompUSA, so if there is a CompUSA close by you then go check 'em out.

oh man, i love my TSD!! I take my computer and power cord, and mouse, drawing pens, a binder, a cutting mat (11x17), not to mention 4-5 CD-r's, my sony headphones, and i can still fit my wallet, keys, minidisk player, and a 24" tube that holds drawings. This is no joke, that backpack can hold so much, and the 8890 w/ power cord fit perfectly. Get it if you want a good carrying case that looks good too. i have a black/blue one. no not my eye...

anyway, take it easy!

Tagus Matrix it's bigger than any I've seen.

I stuff my whole rec studio in it.

I use a Targus Sport Deluxe for my 8890 also. It fits perfect in there, almost like a custom fit. Only complaint is that once you put it and the power brick and maybe a couple books it starts to get HEAVY. Heavy enough that I can't toss it over one shoulder comfortably anymore, but unless you are going on a 10 mile hike with it its not a big deal.

It's a little pricey, but the RoadWired Megamedia bag is quite nice. Holds a crapload of stuff.
