It will physically fit, but your BIOS won't recognize the card. And I beleive the 9400/1705's You'd have to force the BIOS to an M90. I'm fairly certain some users on here have gotten their 9400's flashed to an M1710, so it's entirely possible you can flash to an M90.

Well Guys I tried falshing My 2500M with a 7900GTX BIOS and get the Following Error.

Firmware Image PCI device ID (10DE.0299) Does not macth Adapter PCI Device ID (10DE.029A).

Firmware Image Board (7107) Does not match Adapter Board ID (7109)

Error GPU Mismatch.

I have recently used the Cracked 2500M Bios, and updated to the new System A05 BIOS.

I thought maybe the Cracked Video BIOS was causing the Problem. So flashed back to my Original BIOS BAckup. Retried the 7900 GTX flash and the same error occurs. The only thing I am left with is the A05 BIOS update.

Any Thoughts?????

You must flash it like this...

nvflash -4 -5 -6 romname.rom

Then just hit the 'y' key to continue through the prompts and you shall be golden.

So what? This is like a guy enthusing about how he turned his BMW into a "shiny new Hyundai". Hey, congratulations! Again, the 7900GTX is the exact same as an M2500 minus some additional OpenGL functionality that the M2500 has but the 7900GTX does not have. For DirectX applications (=games) there is no difference in speed between the two cards.

Hey Pirx MY BMW and I will do what I want with it.

LOL

And for Gaming yes there are some differences.

Sure you do. I didn't say there's anything wrong with a Hyundai.

That's not possible; you are imagining those differences. But again, that's fine. Whatever floats your boat.

While we are at it - has anyone flashed a 2500M to a 3500M bios and did this do anything that flashing just the clocks (from 500/600 to 575/700) would not have done?
I would venture to guess that flashing the 2500M to a 3500M would have the same effect as flashing the 7900GTX to a 7950GTX (blank screen on reboot). In other words, bad idea lol.

OK, thanks for the warning. I believe you. But now i'm curious.

Now - why would that be so? I thought the only difference between 2500 3500 or 7900 and 7950 was clock speed (and presumably, binned chips)? Exact same architecture, number of shaders, etc.?

Make sure you check the size of the 3500M BIOS, my guess is that it will differ from the 2500M BIOS, thus fail to flash.
