IPW3945ABG not working with Ubuntu edgy

Thread Starter
I recently installed edgy over my previous install (dapper). In dapper the card worked perfectly, without any configuration or so, and here, in edgy, it's not working. I went to networking and tried to check the enable wireless card but there were no wireless networks available in the list, i guess it doesn't scan for networks and it doesn't even recognize my card. I'm a TOTAL newbie to linux so please explain everything you say.

Thanks!!

first things first pop open terminal and do "iwconfig" and it will list all your network cards and show you which ones do and don't allow scanning. hopefully what your wifi card is (eth1 i assume) should allow for it.

then do "iwconfig eth1 essid YOURESSIDHERE key YOURWEPKEYHERE" to configure it.

finally do "dhclient eth1" and wait for it to connect. if you get no love come back here and ask more questions.
