Hi,

When my 9750 4800 AMD 64 bit start to stumble a bit, i did the usual things:-

Checked system logs and start up
Checked this forum (it's excellent )
Downloaded and couple of apps to monitor system status, CPU speed etc. (mob meter is good)

I found that no matter what power scheme ('Always On' 'Laptop/Portable') the CPU speed was always 1 GHz instead of 2.4 The performace of the system obviously sucked and was in dire neeed of a fix.

Other people have / had this problem and the suggestions for fixes are all good. But the only thing that worked exceptionally well and with the most ease?? (plus I didn't find it in any post)

Install the new CPU drivers on the AMD website !!! Select the right CPU type and navigate to drivers/dowloads. There are some other great tools and drivers there too.

Now the system runs at 2.4 / CPU (has 2), like it should, and is generally a bit quicker than before!

Just thought I'd share, although you're probably way ahead of me and did this ages ago! But check you have the most up to date driver, direct from AMD, it makes a big difference to the performance.

Cheers all, hope this gem helps!
