S6210 Backlight problem

Hi all,

My friend accidentally dropped her Lifebook S6210 and now the screen's backlight is gone. The screen still displays content, but it's really dark. Everything else runs properly. The warranty period is over and I am wondering how to fix it. Is it something easy enough to DIY, with the right part? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Backlights are readily available on the web but this job requires some intensive work...it’s not for the faint of heart. Make sure you get the proper size of backlight since there are several different lengths.

If you have a good aptitude in disassembling and reassembling notebooks & their screens it should be no problem.
