Hello Dell 15 Inches & Below CORE DUO/SOLO Series Notebooks forum,
I have a D620 which my company very kindly bought so I can perform my work tasks more efficiently and so being the conscientious employee that I am I want to play games on it. So I've installed MAME32. Now, the weird thing is that MAME runs fine if I boot the laptop while it is being powered by the mains, and even then if I unplug the power cord and run on battery it's fine. But if I boot the laptop running on battery then MAME runs really badly it stutters a lot and is unplayable, then if I plug the power in it stays the same, still unplayable. So what's the difference between booting on battery or on mains power? Does anyone have an explanation for this? I am running NHC but don't thing this is related to the problem as like I said, I can run MAME OK on battery as long as I booted whilst on mains power.
