It is about time to replace my Toshiba S501 with something newer. I will probably give my laptop to my brother as a Christmas present as it still is a 1.7 Pentium 4 M and has decent specs for a laptop for a 12 year old.

Anyways I have not played a game on my laptop in probably over 3 years. So I don’t think that is really a concern of mine unless I suddenly want to start playing games again, but I honestly doubt it. Also I usually just use my computer laying on bed and watching some TV, so I don’t want a 17 inch or anything like that. I want something that will not be outdated in less then a year (this Toshiba has lasted me 4 and in all honestly if it wasn’t for the fact of me wanting to give it to my brother it would probably last me another 1-2 years).

So I am either looking at the Apple MacBook or the Dell E1505, Both price out to within 20 bucks of each other in price. I love the look of the MacBook but haven’t really used a Mac since middle school

I kind of want something different then Windows XP, but luckily Vista is coming out soon so that works for the Dell.

I mainly use it for just for surfing the net at this point in time. I may soon start to use the photo feature more, as well as listening to some music, and a very limited amount of word processing.

My main concern is quality. The toshiba's harddrive would crash once every 6-8 months before it finally got replaced under warranty, the HP i had before that was the biggest pos in the world that after 2 years circuit city gave me my $2k back. So i want something good and reliable.
