I was at the Apple store in Omaha, NE yesterday and they had quite a few refurbs C2D's in the store that were discounted between 200 and 300 bucks. I actually bought a refurb 2.33 C2D MBP that was $ 250 off. I took it back to the office only to find out that the DVD drive was not working properly. Couldn't install anything.
I took it back to the store and they tested it and found it to be unable to detect a CD in the drive... it detected a DVD just fine. Evidently, it has two different electronic eyes - one for a CD and one for DVD.
Anyhow, I ended up paying the difference and getting a new one. Only had it for about 16 hours and I'm really enjoying it.
