Satellite U200/205/Tecra M6 with Memory Stick Pro Duo

I'm having problems reading my Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo with the Memory Stick Pro Adapter in my Toshiba Satellite U205-S5044. It will read an old 4mb Memory Stick without any issues, as well as a 1gb SD card, but not my 2gb Memory Stick Pro Duo with the Memory Stick Pro Adapter.

I've tried upgrading to the newest version of the PCIxx12 driver, which is 2.0.0.4, and even restoring my system to factory configuration, and still no luck. It reads fine in an Averatec AV7170 I have.

Has anybody else run into this issue on a U200/U205 or Tecra M6? They all use the same motherboard and bios. I'm hoping it's something that can be fixed with an driver update, but I've not found anything newer than 2.0.0.4 for this PCIxx12 device.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Well, I called toshiba, and they don't know squat. So I took my Memory Stick Pro Duo and adapter to compusa and tried it in their display model and got the same failure. I also ran across somebody with this same issue at the compuserve forums with a Toshiba that had the pcixx12 chip, and he had a sandisk memory stick pro duo. So basically it's not compatible with Memory Stick Pro Duo. So I picked up an iogear usb reader for it.
