The boot.ini file on my Dell has "/numproc=1" on the end of the last line. Should I leave that as is when editing as you describe or should it be deleted? 

 

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /numproc=1

You might just have to follow the instruction from post #6 and #16 above. It is quite clear as what the member had done
