Sorry if this has been posted, but I did a search and found nothing recent with Cineplayer. Maybe most just use the Media Direct method to play movies?
Anyway, I could not get audio from Cineplayer, Media Center or even Windows Media Player. All other audio was fine, from just the desktop, mp3s, games, but no audio from any of the three methods I can play a DVD.
I fiddled with settings, with drivers, and was trying to locate the newest Cineplayer software (to reinstall) from Dells website when a search led me to this page which explains that there is a bug that started December 1. I changed my date back to November and what do you know? It works! All three players play the sound fine now, and when I change the date back it stops working again. Kinda sucks because some web pages aren't displaying right, I'm assuming because my date is wrong. Like the link I put below, takes many (like 5 or 10) tries sometimes before it displays right.
Here is Dells webpage for reference, if it does not work just do a search of "cineplayer" from the support section and the top hit will be this page. It sounds like a patch is in the works.

If this it new news then I hope this helps save some aggrivation. I am curious as to why this affects all three players and not just the Cineplayer as the article describes? I figured it must be a common codec between the players or something like that.
