The offset all depends on the temp that i8kfangui records versus the temperature you monitor in the nvidia control panel...

I don't know about you zz but when I installed i8kfangui on my 1705 the only way I could get it to actually display and respond to the GPU was to put in the offset of 8. Before I did that it just showed "--" next to the GPU temp.

On my 1710 it showed a temp but was off from the nvidia panel reading by 8 C.

before we can answer that...You have 2 laptops in your sig, which one are you talking about?

Do you have your GPU overclocked at all? If so what clocks are you running? Is this temperature while idle? or while under load? If under load, what sofware are you running that is putting it under load?

I was playing BF2 when it reach the 84c Idle its around 40-50c Never overclockd a thing, Talking about the XPS gen 2 I have another question, with I8kfanGUI I click on "Force both fans to full throttle" or something similar, and they start running at full speed, but then when I clickd again on "Just show Temps" both fans continue at full speed. Im not sure if they are really at top speed, I went to options and check on Show Fans Status, and they both show me High This "high" means full speed? I live in a country with tropical weather so Im wondering if Its better to let the notebook control the fan speeds by itself or should I start using this software to control speed
